The Ultimate, Feminine Studio Newborn Session with Baby Mia!

The summer is full of fun, and lots of babies. I’m sure you’ve been to a few baby showers over the past few months! It seems like baby showers, backyard parties, and extra special get togethers are even more meaningful this year! Well, add another celebration to the list because that’s how I roll. I was recently lucky enough to photograph the ultimate, feminine studio newborn session. I was also able to include this family’s fur baby by including it in this amazing family newborn session. Check out all of the love I captured, below!

Nothing says girly like pink! I pulled out the softest, peachy hue in my collection for this session. My adorable little client was made even more darling with these accessories. And I’ve noticed myself pulling out similar colors a lot this summer, for my clients. Adding in a rosebud headband, a few textured blankets, and a gorgeous basket, is always a good idea, too!

I’m obsessed with that expression.

Newborn Baby Emelia – A Classic Studio Session with the Family Dog!

I have been so excited at the thought of sharing this classic yet fun family studio newborn session! This session is proof that inspiration can come from anywhere (even the family dog). I loved this amazing family and the fact that mom Jackie wanted to include their small dog in the shoot. I always want to celebrate how special my client families are – and that includes fur babies! This shoot showcases whites and neutrals mixed with subtle textures. It’s one of my favorites from this spring! Check out the stunning photos and see how gorgeous newborn sweetheart Emelia is …

Check out this classic setup! I’m happy to say I believe I nailed Jackie’s vision here, with the different white textures. Although I’m always happy to incorporate more props and details, I also love keeping things simple. With all the attention on Emelia, you just know how special she is going to be! I’m also excited to see how Jackie and Christian decide to display these images in their hallways and master bedroom.

On to another beautiful setup! Can you tell I’m happy to oblige a request for textured neutrals in the studio?! This amazing blanket – I’m just obsessed with the subtle patterns it creates and the touch of warmth it gives Emelia’s photos.

How fabulous is this setup? I really love all of the textures, and subtle use of color. And don’t get me started on exquisite Emelia’s pouty little mouth! She is such a terrific subject, which of course helped the pictures from this session turn out especially amazing!

A Sweet Studio Session for Newborn Baby Lucie!

A new month means an adorable studio newborn session! This cuteness is brought to you by my clients Sue and Brian. Sue approached me with a beautiful concept, and I was all in. I couldn’t wait to arrange all the details. It ended up being a darling neutral floral, and simply styled session with the coolest family ever. I can’t get enough of this fun family newborn session. Now, get ready, because baby season is here and you’re going to need all of this inspiration.

It wouldn’t be a Looking Up Photography session without a cute little newborn headband! Along with all of the adorable neutral details and textures. I’m a sucker for the little things and also loved the hues Sue requested for this session.

Onto the next pretty set up! Of course we used the best newborn accessories from my collection. I am in love with this entire arrangement of images in white – aren’t they adorable? I did my thing photographing an amazingly squishy sleepy Lucie. I love how pretty she looked in her headband with that giant white flower! Amazing imagery galore!

A Cozy and Enchanting Studio Family Newborn Session for Max

Believe it or not, I have yet another session from 2021 – with one of my favorite families – that I need to share! Another magical session that has been tucked away in my vault of sessions itching to be shared! I got to spend time with mom Hien, dad Seth, and sweet Kaia once again, this time with baby boy Max in tow! The studio provided a gorgeous setting, and we added some whimsical touches, pops of color, and cute details. It was a beautiful day for beautiful people, and I feel fortunate that Hien again asked me to capture their family!

Gorgeous textures in cream and ivory had to make their way into this session, of course!

Have you ever seen such marvelous little cheeks? And Max was absolutely perfect, allowing me to create these stunning images with ease. I had so much fun creating imagery for his family to add to their walls and share with family.

These new gray newborn accessories! I can’t get enough of them, and they seem to really suit nearly every newborn session! I loved using some rustic wood accents to complement the lush softness of the gray accessories. And of course, I had to use my favorite cream colored flokati, which complements everything perfectly.

Kaia was so sweet with her new little brother, and she also was styled in the prettiest outfit. I love the delicacy of her ensemble!

The Sweetest and Prettiest Family Newborn Session for Lucie

Today, it’s a newborn celebration! Baby Lucie was born and I helped her family celebrate with a studio family newborn session, gorgeous greens, fabulous florals, and lots of cuteness! This family was a repeat client (I previously photographed big brother Arlo). The Looking Up Photography studio was the perfect place to have the family gather and celebrate the newborn birthday girl. I had the best time and I was so lucky to have an angel baby to help me bring this session to life. This session will be hard to top in 2022 but I think I can do it!

I set the stage with an adorable pink and paired it with other pink beauties. How sweet are these colors? So darn cute. Of course, baby Lucie was just lovely as well!

I was so excited when Lucie’s mom Sophia went with me again for their second bundle of joy, and how adorable are the results of this session?! This family is full of natural beauty, and they made photographing this session such an easy job for me. My photography studio also truly helps me make magic and provides the most amazing light for my clients. Of course, some family portraits were the perfect finishing touch!

Newborn Photography Greenwich – Baby Girl Josephine

Josephine was joined by her mother Kellie, father Kenny, and big brother Bennett for her newborn session. This family newborn session was one to remember. I had previously photographed big brother Bennett when he joined the world. Despite the challenges of the continuing coronavirus pandemic, Kellie valiantly displayed her deep gratitude for the gift of a daughter, Josephine. In other words, a newborn right now? Totally worth it.

I’m happy to have captured this family’s blessing, Josephine, in a way that I hope they will cherish for the rest of their lives.

“May you always know, little one, that you were wished for, longed for, prayed for, and will be forever loved.”

1031 Looking Up Photography

The love parents have for their children is otherworldly. Miraculously, for many of us, that love begins when we first see an ultrasound or hear a heartbeat for the first time. When they’re finally in our arms, our lives are forever changed. Our priorities change to focus on our children and ensuring we provide the best life for them.

1040 Looking Up Photography1050 Looking Up Photography

When we give our first child a sibling, words can’t express how it feels seeing them together. Our love for both of our children instantly grows deeper and stronger. Maybe we learn a few new ways to practice patience, too! If we’re dedicated to doing what’s best for our family, as Kellie and Kenny are, a growing family can strengthen the bond between partners.

1079 Looking Up Photography1095 Looking Up Photography

This sweet face and these delicate hands? Worth the challenges of pregnancy. Motherhood fulfilled, once again.

Parenthood is a gift, and I hope Kellie and Kenny are continuing to enjoy almost every moment of it.

Creating memories for my clients is so important to me. This family portrait session is a celebration of the joy that has been bestowed on them. New life! I hope Josephine will enjoy these photos as she gets older, too.

Greenwich Newborn Photographer – Baby Zara

Welcome to the world, baby Zara! Such an adorable bundle of joy and so loved by her family. Mom booked me for a newborn session as I had already photographed big sister Quinn last year. In planning for these photos, Nicole shared with me that she especially wanted some photographs in cream, mauve, and pink hues. I was so happy to see some lovely compliments from Nicole about Quinn’s session. Baby Zara and family came to the Looking Up Photography studio in Greenwich, for her newborn session. I could tell right away that Zara was going to be the perfect model, and indeed she was!

1142 Looking Up Photography1138 Looking Up Photography

We got a lovely selection of photos in the lace onesie Nicole purchased especially for this session. Zara’s nursery is decorated in cream and olive colors, and I can just imagine how beautiful these images will look adorning her nursery walls. This makes my heart so happy!

I also loved capturing Zara in this beautiful mauve tutu!

Cayden – Belly to Baby Session in Greenwich, Connecticut

All roads to pregnancy are different. Some are clearly planned, with few bumps … they include detailed road maps. Some “roads” are more like roller coasters, with surprises around each turn, ups and downs. And some are like that road trip your parents forced you to take when you were a teenager. Forced smiles, frustrations, and counting down to that destination. However easy or complicated the journey, once pregnancy passes a certain stage, at least one new life has been created and the lives of everyone involved are forever changed. This lovely couple’s journey was a bit like that road trip with the parents, but it’s clear that the end result is sheer joy. They have a healthy and beautiful little boy and are so at ease as new parents, it’s like they’ve been parenting for years.

Cayden was such a trooper for his session! He slept amazingly.

For Cayden’s session, mom wanted a “cabin-in-the-woods” type feel. I was more than happy to oblige mom’s wishes. My heart almost stopped when I looked at some of these images at the back of the camera, as I knew they’d be absolutely perfect!

I also incorporated some wood elements into the newborn gallery as I felt it would be a great complement! When I brought the imagery into my computer for editing, I wasn’t disappointed at all.

In keeping with mom’s request, I used some gorgeous blues for some of Cayden’s posed imagery. I also loved the shades of green Courtney incorporated into the maternity session. I absolutely love this color of green!

These sessions were such an honor to photograph. Enjoy this small peek into their journey from belly to baby!

Cora – A Studio Newborn Session Featuring Grandparents

Spending more time at the studio is truly something I have enjoyed during the ongoing pandemic. One of the things I look forward to most is photographing clients in my lovely studio space. And I LOVED this client! She and her daughter were absolutely beautiful, and I loved that the grandparents were included, too. Mom, daughter, grandma, grandpa – they were all delightful.

As a new client and a first time mom, I’m looking forward to working with this family again in the future. Mom was such a fun client; I kind of wish I could clone her!

Studio newborn sessions are some of my favorite sessions … and Cora is such a darling baby!

Baby Cora got to wear some of my favorite newborn accessories, thanks to mom’s specific request for a more posed gallery of pictures. Everything in my studio is classic, and incredibly handmade.

I adore the simplicity of this session (and my client’s wonderful energy!). It was just perfect! And those images with grandma and grandpa. Lovely.

Gabriela – Belly to Baby Sessions in Greenwich, Connecticut

With the Earth warming up for springtime on this half of the beautiful blue planet we call home, and with Mother’s Day almost here (it’s in 2 weeks, partners!), most of us will still most likely be celebrating at or near home this year. As much as some people may be sad about not being able to go out to a packed restaurant for brunch, I, for one, am still loving this more relaxed time of life with my family. I also knew that, as we get closer to Mother’s Day, I just had to share this Belly to Baby Newborn Session – and previous celebration of a mama to-be. Don’t you adore the Fosse look of that first image?!

We had a special maternity session at the studio, right here in Greenwich, Connecticut. I love how mom dressed for our maternity session together, especially as it gave me the opportunity to do something a bit different. Isn’t her silhouette pure maternity magic? The perfect maternity dress. This was a new Belly to Baby client for 2020/2021! This client was recommended to me by a friend of mine. I always appreciate referrals. And I am honored each and every time a client chooses to work with me for the first time, especially when they choose me to document their pregnancy and their growing family!

Keep scrolling to and check out the contrast of mom’s maternity look to the light and airy Looking Up Photography Belly to Baby studio newborn session. I love that I am able to share with you the very different looks we can capture in the studio. I loved this couple’s bright and relaxed attitude; Gabriela is a fortunate little girl.

Jordyn – A Sweet, Pink Studio Newborn Session

Welcoming a newborn into your family and your home is a wonderful and emotional time. As a professional newborn photographer, I love when I have the opportunity to document these early days as parents get to know their newborn. It was such a pleasure to welcome this family into the Looking Up Photography studio, and to welcome baby Jordyn with a newborn session gifted by Jordyn’s paternal grandmother, Barbara.

Welcoming a new baby can sometimes be daunting for new parents, but not for these two. Nicole and Scott were over the moon every time Jordyn did something cute or funny … or anything at all, really! Photographing a newborn session in my Greenwich, Connecticut photography studio means we can take all the time we need to capture every perfect quality of a new baby.

Another reason I love studio newborn sessions is that they are usually very comfortable and relaxed. Plus, I get to see beautiful babies like Jordyn! A sweet, new baby girl – and I just love her name. I love that I can keep in mind exactly where families will be placing their finished images when I’m capturing sessions in the studio; it allows me to change the accessories, backgrounds, and colors, and gives such a personal touch to the photos.

Baby girl was absolutely wonderful and I love the classic look of this session. With gently posed images, Jordyn is already rocking photoshoots!

This is one of my favorite studio newborn sessions that I’ve photographed, and I am honored I got to meet Jordyn and create a dreamy virtual time capsule for this growing family.

Mikey – Cute Newborn Studio Session – Greenwich, Connecticut

Is anyone else looking for fun photo inspiration for newborns, these days? As we can maybe see the light at the end of the pandemic tunnel, I think it’s important for professional photographers to prioritize our businesses, and maybe even make things a little extra special for our clients! If you’re a parent, are your kids aware of the history being played out all around them? My children are old enough to understand that they’re living through a time that will someday be in history books! Of course, there have been a lot of questions, and a little bit of stress, too. Being home all the time isn’t always ideal, but we have certainly made the best of it. We’ve even had days that were downright blissful. Still, even though I’m working, getting to the studio for a sweet little newborn session can serve as a little chance for me to ‘take a breath’. Scroll down to see how I created this session for a new client!

A little newborn session trick for my fellow professional newborn photographers: keep a fully stocked studio. This adds a terrific, convenient touch to sessions for clients, and helps them be confident that they don’t need to have anything for baby to wear. There are many marketplace-style groups for photographers if you’re on a budget, to start! Make sure you thoroughly wash anything you purchase second-hand, using the appropriate, baby-friendly detergent or cleaning method. You can even create a closet for older siblings if you choose to. Then, be sure your clients know you have this option available, and that you have their new family member(s) covered for your session. Knowing that I have all the swaddles and adorable hats one can imagine is such a perk for my clients.

Family Newborn Session at the Studio – TJ

Raise your hand if you’re looking for a newborn session to inspire you! This may be the second spring we’re having that looks a bit different, this year, but it doesn’t mean our photography inspiration should suffer. Heck, maybe you have a ton of inspiration right now since all your favorite professional photographers are getting caught up on blogging! This family is a favorite recent client and I wanted to incorporate them into my spring blogging. I loved how thorough and open Mom was on her client questionnaire! I appreciate that she mentioned how much she values my talent, time, and work. This fun family newborn session at my studio makes a wonderful addition to my portfolio, and I hope it inspires you!

This time of year brings with it some of my favorite photo sessions at my Greenwich studio, and I thought this family newborn session would be a great addition to my blog! I’ve noticed that sharing recent sessions has a way of making me feel like there aren’t still a million other things going on in the world. So, I love big brother Mack’s proud smiles. This airy session is perfect for spring, and you know this classic look is my favorite.

Lucas – Greenwich Studio Family Newborn Session

I’m on quite the productivity kick as we enter into our second year of the novel coronavirus pandemic! It started with going through all of my sessions from over the past year or so, then selecting many of my favorites and preparing them to be blogged here. Of course it’s hard, as a professional photographer, to not feel what’s ongoing around us. That said, I do have hope for this year. I am blessed with the very best clients who’ve made the most of these exceptional times. I continue to look forward to celebrating new life, and lots of really fun sessions!

I’m excited to share one of my first sessions of 2021 so you can share in the joy of this sweet baby with me, and his family! This family is a repeat client; I adore seeing families back in my studio as their numbers grow.

You can also book a session for yourself at the bottom of this post – I made it nice and easy for you!

Knowing that some of my favorite clients aren’t yet ready for photo sessions is pretty tough. What a different feeling it is to know just how different the world will continue to be, for now. In some ways, the world has become almost unrecognizable. For those clients, though, we’re in communication with each other. We know that when the time is right for them, our sessions together will be even more special than before!

Everyone has to do what’s best for them and their families, and even though I’m not able to photograph some clients right now, I am still so excited to share the sessions I am photographing. This studio space has become a wonderful place for me to make growing families feel special, and welcomed, despite current circumstances.

My favorite thing about this session is the absolutely palpable love and pride. I’m sure you’ve been seeing on social media that some creatives are afraid to share their work right now. As for me, I want to acknowledge and love on my clients, who have allowed my livelihood to continue on. This session does just that, for me. The way big sister Lily smiles, the way mom beams with happiness, and the warmth and care all over dad’s face. I think we can all use a little more of this right now!

You can contact me below to celebrate your own family at any stage of life. Keep on keeping on, my friends!

Dilan – Sweet and Simple Newborn Session in the Studio

What’s simple, sweet, and full of snuggles? This beautiful studio newborn session with baby boy, Dilan.

Upon meeting, he was already perfectly sleepy, allowing mom and dad to follow my every move. The whole family was simply so impressive to me! We got the perfect mix of photos with him sweetly sleeping, as well cuddled up with mom, dad, and their loving miniature golden doodle.

Did you know that during your studio newborn session with Looking Up Photography, I’ll divide your session into “breakouts”? I’ll change up exactly who is being photographed so we can be sure you receive the perfect blend of images when your final gallery is delivered. During our time together, we’ll get your new arrival front and center, all by themselves – including those tiny details you never want to forget! We’ll also make sure mom and dad have their time to shine. Siblings (or fur siblings) will have their own time in front of the camera. The whole family will be photographed all together as well, of course, too!

There is nothing better than shooting within the beautiful walls of the studio! Many congratulations to this new family of four (including their precious mini golden doodle)! For an example of what your relaxing studio newborn session with Looking Up Photography might look like, keep scrolling.

Alexander’s Studio Newborn Session

As a newborn photographer, my goal is to have a baby who sleeps through our session. I prep my clients. I give them information. Even if parents do everything to a T, every now and then I’ll photograph a baby who has a bit of a hard time settling in the studio. This is especially true for those clients who occasionally contact me after the baby is born, instead of several weeks in advance. Thankfully, I have plenty of tools and tricks I use to help baby settle as best I can. Every once in awhile, there are those babies that don’t want to sleep, but we still get amazing imagery no matter what!

Alexander was already a week old when his mom, Charlotte, contacted me. Charlotte and David are Irish! They moved stateside about a decade ago and Charlotte told me that newborn sessions aren’t very common in Ireland. Their family still live in Ireland and Charlotte discovered she really wanted to capture this time of the 3 of them, not only for themselves, but to share with their long distance family. I was able to get this family in the studio quickly so I agreed to do a studio newborn session. I can usually accommodate newborn sessions as long as I have room in my schedule.

Alexander was still very sleepy and our photos are of him sleeping. Actually, I’m almost certain he was asleep pretty much the whole time. My goal is always to keep my newborn clients happy, whether they’re awake or asleep!

We created some absolutely adorable images with Alexander. His drowsy, dreamy demeanor made my job that much easier, too!

I loved working with this precious family! They were referrals from another client, and Charlotte also did her research on WestportMoms.com. I just love hearing that past clients recommend me as someone who’s understanding of new moms and who can make first-timers feel comfortable! But honestly, Charlotte, David, and Alexander all had such happy, go-with-the-flow attitudes. Oh! And I need to include big brother Mylo, the cockapoo. Mylo didn’t get flustered at all when dad picked him up for a photo with the whole family. Everyone rolled with the punches and it made for an amazingly delightful final gallery.

Grady – A Studio Newborn Session at Looking Up Photography’s Greenwich, Connecticut Studio

Photographing repeat clients at my studio is such a joy. This session started when mom Jess contacted me about a second session because she loved the newborn session with their first child so much! This client is wonderful, and she was happy to tell me that she booked with Looking Up Photography again due to how happy she was with her previous photos, as well as my professionalism. Such a compliment!

Celebrate your growing family with a studio newborn session!

We had a beautiful time in the studio. The client’s classic clothing choices were great, and I especially loved having Emmett in the studio again!

See Emmett’s newborn session here!

We set up in our incredible little spot, and the scene was set for a fun morning with this family. The family just enjoyed each other’s company, going with the natural flow of the session. The type of session itself leant itself to the fall and holiday vibe mom requested. It was a lovely way to spend a couple of hours! Jess and Dan were always nearby and baby Grady was in great hands. As a professional newborn photographer, safety is of the utmost importance to me, and my experience with infants was one of the reasons Jess asked me to photograph their family as they welcomed their second child!

Emmett was wonderful with his new baby brother – especially for being under two years old himself. I’m kind of obsessed with the image of Grady in his Santa-inspired outfit! That little hat – I can’t get enough of it.

The joy this family exudes is gorgeous. I love a good Greenwich studio newborn session, and I had such a blast with this family.
